Our History

Midwest Martial Arts was established in May of 1993.  MMA provides the most comprehensive martial arts program in the Cedar Rapids area. We are pioneers in offering multiple martial arts in one facility. In addition to offering ITF Taekwon-Do, we offer Hapkido, Filipino Martial Arts and Kum Do.  Midwest Martial Arts Training Center offers the most comprehensive martial arts training in eastern Iowa. All of the instructors on our staff are highly skilled, certified instructors who hold black belts in multiple martial arts. We also have the most experienced husband and wife team in central Iowa; several of our staff are Hall of Fame recipients for their outstanding excellence in teaching and promoting martial arts. Some staff members have traveled as far as Montreal, Canada for additional training.
